The Legacy of the Class of 2024
30 seniors from 18 different nations represented the 18th graduating class of 2024 at The American International School of Cape Town (AISCT) on May 31, 2024. This momentous occasion for the AISCT Class of 2024 was a celebration not only for the graduates and their families, but for our whole school community.
“Throughout our graduates’ time here, they exemplified the spirit of unity in diversity, celebrating each other’s differences, learning from one another, and growing together as a community,” shared Dr. Daniel Jubert, Head of School at AISCT.
This milestone marks the end of years of dedication and hard work but also the beginning of an exciting new season filled with promise and opportunities ahead. Our graduates are now ready to take on the world and make meaningful contributions to their communities across Africa and beyond, carrying the values and skills they have gained in their time at the American International School of Cape Town.
Meeting the Challenges of a Changing World
The world is rife with challenges and polarizing topics, more so than at any other time in recent history. Yet, through it all, AISCT’s graduates have shown resilience, determination, and the ability to overcome adversity. They have modeled how people of all cultures, religions, races, and ethnicities can live in peace. They give us hope that a diverse community can live and work together in harmony.
Their year’s graduates certainly took on their share of challenges in their final year at AISCT. This group of seniors collectively took 181 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams. That is an average of six APs taken per student, with some as many as ten. They have collectively been awarded 267 university and college acceptances and over R185M in scholarship offers. Their university and college acceptances span eight countries and a full range of areas of study.

Diverse and Transferable Skills
Beyond their academic growth and successes, throughout the year, they have shown leadership, empathy, balance, and grit through their studies, service learning projects, extracurricular activities, individual passions, and the exercising of their agency on causes and topics that moved them. They have demonstrated their ability to work alongside each other, learn from each other, and support each other in reaching their goals.

As we bid farewell to the Class of 2024 and welcome a new school year, we do so with immense pride and optimism for the future. Our graduates are fully prepared with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to navigate the complexities of the 21st century. They are well-rounded individuals who value collaboration and community and who have the courage to pursue their passions.
The AISCT community — teachers, staff, parents, and fellow students — joins together in celebrating this momentous occasion and looks forward to witnessing the many accomplishments our graduates will undoubtedly achieve in the years to come.
